Communicate with your employer

Before your kids arrive, make a point of communicating with your employer about the changes to come. Being proactive about your needs and circumstances is far more likely to produce positive results than waiting for a problem to arise before speaking up. Take care of yourself physically and emotionally

As a caregiver, you may find that you begin to feel overwhelmed. You may begin to feel stressed, tired, and barely able to keep up with your responsibilities. Luckily, there are many ways to take care of yourself even when you have a full household and a full-time job to juggle. For example, try to set up times when you can have ample privacy and quiet time to recharge your batteries. Establish boundaries

As a parent, you’re undoubtedly aware that sometimes you have to put your foot down. This is especially true when it comes to work-life balance. As a parent, you’re likely used to hearing about the importance of spending time with your children. However, it’s just as important to make time for yourself. Try to schedule some “me time” into your calendar, whether it be a weekly massage or an hour-long meditation session. You may also want to consider a hobby or pastime that allows you to relax and unwind.
